Take a Journey Church Tour

Are you new to Journey Church? You and your family are invited to join us for a brief tour of Journey Church where you will meet some friendly people, get a snapshot of what Journey offers, and be able to ask questions.

Volunteer at the Harvesters Food Pantry Outreach
Let us know that you want to volunteer…
Journey Outreach is excited to partner with Harvesters Food Network to serve our community with a monthly Mobile Food Pantry. This will take place every 3rd Saturday of the month at Journey Church.
We need several volunteers to make this a success! We DO need you to sign up in advance. Ages 8 and up can serve. Join your church family and let’s serve our community!
VBS – “Be Wonder Filled”
Thursday & Friday, June 22nd & 23rd from 6-8:30pm

Vacation Bible School is for Kids who just finished Pre-Kindergarten-5th grade.
What does it mean to be Wonder FILLED? It means you know who God is and who He has made you to be. It means you look for Him and see Him throughout His creation.
During VBS we will help kids discover their true identity in God’s big story and know without a doubt that they belong to the wonder-giver himself! We will make space for God to be our Creator, for Jesus to be our Savior, and the Holy Spirit to be present in every moment.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with setup, set design, crafts, games, food, decorating, registration, and check-in and tear down. Even if you cannot serve all 3 days we can use your help if you can do setup, planning, tear down or even if you can only help for just one of the days of VBS.
All volunteers who serve during VBS will need to have a background check. If you already serve in Early Childhood, Journey Kids, Route 56 or Elevate Youth that should already be complete. If you have questions about volunteering contact Becky DeWitt at becky@journeykc.com
Volunteer at Camp CUMCITO
City Union Mission Camp CUMCITO offers a one-week Summer Bible Camp experience to over 600 at-risk children and teens each year primarily serving youth from urban Kansas City. You have the opportunity to volunteer this Summer at the camp. This is a great opportunity to go on a NO COST Missions Trip without having to leave Missouri.

Mission Connect is a new Journey Event that’s all about connecting led by Michael and Abby Heitsman at their home. This is an event for you to come meet and get to know other people from your church family.
It doesn’t matter if you are new to Journey or if you’ve been attending for years. There is no commitment. You can come once or come multiple times, and it’s come and go if you need to. Adults and kids of all ages are welcome and you can even bring a friend.
We will have food and drinks available. Registration is not required, but would be appreciated so we can better prepare.

Discover the Journey

Registration is required by the Friday before the date. This class is for ages 18 and over. Lunch will be provided. We will meet in Auditorium 2, start at the beginning of the 11:15am Service, and it will last until around 2pm. Childcare is available for ages 10 & under if you sign up in advance.
Discover the Journey is the starting point for anyone who is ready to take the next step toward participating, connecting, and becoming more involved at Journey Church.

- The way Journey Church is structured and governed
- Our beliefs, vision, and mission
- Our specific beliefs on what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts
- The calling, direction, and future for Journey Church and your part in it
Once you have completed Discover the Journey, many opportunities for connecting, serving, and growing with us become available. It is our desire to see you become a part of Team Journey, and Discover the Journey is where to begin.

Marriage Focus

This is an opportunity to consistently set aside time to invest in your marriage relationship alongside a community of like-minded believers.
Each Marriage Focus will be unique in content. You and your spouse will be equipped, encouraged, and empowered to strengthen your marriage relationship in a wide variety of topics. The Lord has something powerful in store for your marriage!

In 2023, we are partnering with LifeMission Church as we will be going to Wheat State Retreat Center from Wednesday, July 26 – Sunday, July 30th!
Youth Camp is one of those special times where we can separate ourselves from the day to day and encounter God in a set apart and special environment. It’s a time where we can disconnect from the noise and put our focus fully on Him through passionate worship and prayer, powerful messages, and amazing conversations and fellowship.
You can expect all of that along with team competitions, basketball, sand volleyball, paintball, and much more!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Build Day
Saturday, August 5th from 8am-1pm at Journey
Join us as we partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 50 beds that will be delivered throughout Clay and Platte Counties to children who don’t have one of their own.
Don’t worry if you’ve never touched a power tool before. There will be jobs for all skill levels. Children ages 12 years and up can volunteer with a parent or an adult. Email outreach@journeykc.com if you have questions.
