21 Days of Prayer – Day 1

 In Fasting, Prayer

God has DECIDED to need you and me…that’s a pretty amazing thought! He chooses to partner with us to see things accomplished for His Kingdom here on the earth. Think about it, that means that there are things just waiting to be unlocked if we would step out in faith! So many times we are waiting for a move of God when He is waiting for a move of man. One of the ways we participate with God is through prayer…so let’s get started!

Watchman Nee put it this way: “Our prayers lay the track down on which God’s power can come.
Like a mighty locomotive, His power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails.”

So here’s what we’re going to do: For the next 21 days we are going to intensify our focus on prayer. This will take us through the end of August and prepare us for the next season in the natural as we head into fall but also for our next season spiritually. I strongly believe that if we, as a unified church, begin to elevate prayer and pray as a church family, God will bring us into a new season of fruitfulness in our family, friendships, church family and also in our purpose and calling to reach beyond us. I believe that God will stir our hearts during this season of prayer back to His heart in fresh new ways. I pray that we will see things more clearly from His perspective and begin to pray for those things to happen!

There’s an often quoted scripture out of 2 Chronicles 7:14 on prayer. It says: “If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land.”

Let’s begin to turn our hearts to God in this way. Let’s begin to humble ourselves and seek Him. Let’s begin to let the Holy Spirit show us areas of our lives that don’t resemble what it’s like to follow Christ and turn from those ways. Let’s begin some way, some how, some where…even if you don’t have it all figured out…just begin!
