21 Days of Prayer – Day 5

 In Fasting, Prayer

Romans 8:26 says: Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Sometimes we don’t know what to pray or how to pray. That’s when the Holy Spirit empowers our prayer in a way that we can’t. Paul calls this “praying in the Spirit” and that it’s good thing to do to be built up when you need strength.

Jude 1:20 indicates that praying in the Spirit helps to build our faith. So today you may find yourself not knowing what or how to pray for a specific situation or you may find yourself in a weak spot needing strength. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Ask him to fill you to overflowing! Pray in the Spirit by faith and see breakthroughs begin to come! If you’re interested in more about the Holy Spirit, check out this message from our Messed up Theology series found here. Also, there are great books from guys like my friend Clint Sprague that you can get here on the Baptism with the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to check them out!
