21 Days of Prayer – Day 21

 In Fasting, Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:17 simply says: “Never stop praying”.

This is the last day of our 21 Days of prayer and my encouragement to you today is to keep on praying. Continue to elevate the level of prayer in your life. There is no reason to take a step back in prayer! There is no reason to slow down! In fact, this is who we should be…people of prayer!

“You may as soon find a living man that does not breath, as a living Christian that does not pray.” Matthew Henry

We need to ALL begin to see ourselves as people of prayer. This is not just for professionals. It’s not just for a season. It’s not just for the pastors. It’s who we are as Christians.

Even Jesus was a person of prayer. It’s hard for us to understand why He would take the time or need the time to slip away by Himself for an all night prayer meeting here and there but He did. I believe He did for several reasons but one of the reasons is so that He could show us the example of how we are to live as His followers. If we want to follow Jesus, we will follow His pattern of living! If HE needed it, how much more do WE need it?

“No learning can make up for the failure to pray. No earnestness, no diligence, no study, no gifts will supply its lack.” E.M. Bounds

A living, breathing conversation with God can never be substituted by great messages, great deeds or great intentions. This is the joy that comes with walking by the Spirit. Let’s keep on walking!
