21 Days of Prayer – Day 16

 In Fasting, Prayer
“If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me.” (Robert Murray McCheyne)

How confident would we be if we could literally hear Jesus praying over us in the next room? I imagine if we audibly heard that take place it would change our level of anxiety, our fearfulness, our approach to life and our attitude about our situation. I think we would latch on to the scripture that says “greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world” with a little more conviction and excitement!

Hebrews 7:25 says:Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

However you interpret this scripture, one thing is true…Jesus is representing us before the Father. Isn’t that an awesome thought to know that Jesus has your back? Doesn’t it take some of the pressure off knowing that you don’t have to be perfect at representing yourself before God because Jesus is already doing that part? As we talk about the subject of prayer, isn’t is great to know that someone is praying for you? During your next prayer time it might be a good idea to spend some time thanking Jesus for interceding for us! This, in fact, is a great prayer: “Thank you Jesus for representing me before the Father!”
