COVID-19 Outreach
Learn how Journey Church is responding to COVID-19 in our area.
Current Journey Outreach Efforts
Due to COVID-19 we have had to put many outreach events on hold, BUT God is providing new opportunities for us to serve our community and families. Although we may not be able to come together physically in a large capacity in these serving opportunities, please know that YOU are still a very big part in all that we do!
Many organizations and hospitals have had to reframe the way we can participate in helping them during this time. Their policies and procedures are changing daily because the situation is very fluid. They are asking that we adhere to the processes they have in place and we want to honor their request. Individual efforts can actually hurt the situation not help it so we are currently cooperating with these organizations to coordinate our response.
How can you help right now?
1. You can pray. Prayer is our weapon against this virus!
2. You can be a life line for someone that is lonely and be a phone friend.
3. You can give. Continue supporting Journey Church and the Outreach Ministry with your tithes, offerings, and special giving is a way that you can support Journey’s response.
4. You can send words of encouragement to the staff at Liberty Hospital. Click HERE to send your message.
Community Outreach Efforts
We are staying in touch with all of our community partners to see how we can come along side of them during this time.
There are two community serving opportunities that Journey Church is participating in that allows us to serve our community while adhering to the CDC guidelines that we would like to invite you to be a part of. If you are able and willing, we would love you to consider taking advantage of the efforts listed below by volunteering or sharing these opportunities with others. We see these opportunities as impactful ways that we can safely help lend a hand to those around us.
Also, if you have ideas or contacts that would help aid us in our outreach efforts please email outreach@journeykc.com and let us know.
FOOD KIT DISTRIBUTION
We are partnering with Liberty Public Schools and Northland Feeds Kids and participating in the distribution of their food kits. CLICK HERE to sign up to serve. They are distributing to around 450 families per week. MUST COMPLY WITH THEIR CDC PRECAUTIONS.
What is happening in Journey Outreach?
Meal Delivery to Fire Stations and Kansas City Police Departments
Journey Church Outreach Ministry partnered with 2 local businesses to deliver box lunches to our first responders at 3 area Fire Stations and 3 area Police Departments.
Journey Church has several first responders that are a part of our church family. We were excited to show them support from their church as well as bless their fellow co-workers. Thank you to Firehouse Subs and Mr. Goodcents here in Liberty and thank you Journey Church!
Journey Outreach Delivers Gloves to Liberty Hospital
Journey Outreach had the opportunity to bless the workers at Liberty Hospital with 2,000 pair of nitrile gloves and several large bottles of hand lotion.
Thank you to Alexa and Matt Beaverson of the Journey Church Outreach Team for volunteering to deliver these items.
Journey Outreach delivers Masks to Liberty and NKC Hospitals
As a part of Journey Church efforts to help in any way we can with the current virus crisis the Outreach Team purchased and delivered seven hundred N95 Masks. We divided them up between Liberty Hospital and North Kansas City Hospitals. We also gave masks to some of our Journey Church families who are nurses and physicians that we knew of who wanted one.
Matt and Lacey Nelson are a part of the Journey Outreach Team and are also employees at North Kansas City Hospital. They volunteered to drop them off there for us along with a card that went to those who received the masks. You can see examples of the cards in the pictures below.
Thank you Journey Church for supporting Journey Outreach! Email outreach@journeykc.com if you would like to join the team or want to get involved with Journey Outreach in some way.
