There is a real inclusive truism that says, “You are what you believe.†DNA is your core beliefs that predetermines the decisions you will make in life. Your beliefs are your DNA to life and eternity. The decisions you make in life are based upon what you believe. Life is made up, mentally and spiritually, of the choices you make based on your core beliefs. They speak of the standards, values and morals by which you live.
The KC Star newspaper told the story of a Tennessee sheriff and his deputy who drove 4100 miles to California to pick up a man wanted for identity theft. After returning to Tennessee with their prisoner, they found out they had picked up the wrong person. The person they picked up was the one whose identity had been stolen. They believed the wrong thing about the man they arrested. They were fooled because they didn’t have their facts right. Imagine the reactions of their colleagues toward them.
It is important that your beliefs are tied to truth and not false assumptions or erroneous beliefs. Your happiness and peace of mind is tied up in believing with assurance that your beliefs are founded upon truth. False teachings and beliefs are ever present so you need to always be substantiating the truth in what you believe. The Bible proclaims that Satan is a deceiver and he will lead you astray if he can. Whether or not you want to admit it, your belief’s DNA to life and eternity does have an affect on others. Your beliefs mirror your character, morals and loudly or silently affect your relationships for better or worse. They reflect the value you place on God, worship, family, people, work, self-discipline, goals, life and hope. They determine your life-style, integrity, self-worth and quests in life. Your belief’s DNA affects others within your life-sphere. The Bible says it this way, “For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.†Romans 14:79Romans 14:79

Some people think their beliefs about God are unimportant to share with anyone else. They may be afraid of offending a person or coming into conflict with another’s belief so they keep quiet about their own belief. I have counseled married couples who have never been engaged in a conversation about what the other one believes about God, salvation and eternity. It is difficult for me to understand how two people can commit to each other without knowing what the other believes about God and eternity.
Your beliefs establish who you are. Make sure your beliefs are founded on the truths of time-tested orthodox Biblical doctrines.
In life you act out what you believe.
